I graduated from the SZTE Practice High School in Szeged (formerly SZTE Ságvári Endre Practice High School) in 2010, specializing in biology, physics, and chemistry. From the very beginning, I was interested in pursuing a medical career.
I graduated from the University of Szeged Medical School in 2016 and have been working at the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Szeged since then as a specialist in internal medicine. Upon joining the department, I became a member of the Diabetes Working Group, where I conduct my scientific research under the supervision of Professor Tamás Várkonyi, MD, PhD.
The primary objective of my clinical research is to investigate the etiology and clinical manifestations of diabetic neuropathy, with particular focus on its cardiological, nephrological, and ophthalmological aspects. My work includes the detailed characterization and 10-year follow-up of neurological, nephrological, ophthalmological, and cardiac complications in young, asymptomatic patients with type 1 diabetes.
Since 2018, I have been a member of the Hungarian Diabetes Association, and I regularly participate in its congresses as a first or co-author of oral presentations and posters. In the spring semesters of 2019, 2020, and 2021, I was awarded grants by the Hungarian Diabetes Association to support my participation in these congresses, where I presented research related to the above topics.
To broaden my clinical experience, I have been working part-time at the Emergency Department of the University of Szeged since 2017. In addition, between 2017 and 2021, I also provided services at the city’s central on-call medical service as a tertiary appointment.
I passed the board examination in Internal Medicine in autumn 2021 and began subspecialty training in Cardiology on January 1, 2023. My main areas of professional interest include transthoracic echocardiography (standard cardiac ultrasound) and a holistic “cardiabetology” approach integrating cardiology and diabetology.
Since 2023, I have been working as a specialist in internal medicine at the Újszeged Medical Center.
During consultations, a detailed medical history is obtained, including subjective complaints, objective symptoms, past medical history, family history, current medications, allergies, lifestyle, health-related habits, substance use, physical activity, diet, social background, occupation, and working conditions.
If previous medical records are available (laboratory tests, ultrasound, X-ray, other imaging studies, blood pressure logs, blood glucose diaries, etc.), these are thoroughly reviewed. This is followed by a comprehensive general physical examination and vital parameter assessment (blood pressure, blood glucose, ECG, body temperature, oxygen saturation).
Based on the findings, further diagnostic steps are determined as necessary. The evaluation enables the physician to establish a diagnosis and initiate appropriate therapy, with additional investigations recommended if required.
