General practitional

General Practitioner: Dr. Csilla Sarkadi

Since early 2002, I have been running a continuously operating, newly established general practice, with a special focus on the prevention, screening, and treatment of hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. In addition to my general practitioner specialization, I hold certification in hypertensiology and diabetology. In the early years, I organized numerous health screening programs, where specialists with outstanding clinical expertise contributed with lectures aimed at the general public. Many patients chose a new GP at that time and have remained in my care ever since. The high-quality care provided in my practice is reflected in the exceptionally low occurrence of newly diagnosed cardiovascular complications (heart attacks, strokes, limb loss due to arterial narrowing). The proportion of diabetes patients detected early in my practice is 25%, significantly higher than the national average of approximately 10%.

I have participated in several national and international studies on diabetes and cardiovascular disease screening, incorporating the experience and findings into daily practice. I regularly attend national and international congresses, which help me apply the latest European and American guidelines in patient care.

In everyday practice, I place special emphasis on cancer screening. During consultations, we do not only address current complaints but also encourage patients to undergo age-appropriate screening tests. If necessary, I provide information about the examinations and the necessary preparations. Fortunately, my practice includes many recovered patients who owe their lives to timely screenings.

My practice also includes providing healthcare services to students at the University of Szeged dormitories. General medical care for university students is available by prior telephone appointment, with acute cases being seen by appointment.
